Hi all very large weight 10grams 45mm across silver I think here looks like a lot of overhang any way you guys don't get many wrong what. were. how much. and thanks
The only area I'm aware of that issued these very, very large "multiple dirhams" in great quantity is the Samanid dynasty of mediaeval Afghanistan, circa AD 1000. Until the recent war in Afghanistan, these were pretty hard to come by in the West, but hoards of them seem to have been dug up and sold abroad in recent years. I have one, which I've often posted in threads about "The largest coin in your collection".
The coin is dated, but the date is written out in full in somewhat degraded early Arabic script, and these coins are not often well struck up enough for the date to be read.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
