I have always admired the Canadian Coins. From large cents to dollars and some tokens.

I wonder with the RCM recalling the cents and nickles,

How do you feel that these coins will go up in value, compared to the silver coins?

I have saved these for years and have a couple of complete small cents. My books only go to 1969-70
I would like to get my posts up so I could trade with fellow collectors up North.

It is a real buyers market right now for Canadian coins. That coupled with a very thinly traded market and a severely crippled Canadian dollar, means you can pretty much get a deal on MOST Canadian coins.

They are not recalling the nickles.

With the nickles, the Mint has hired a firm to remove all nickle nickles from circulation, only clad now, unless you get lucky buying some coin jar rolls from the bank lol.

just to clarify "recalling nickels".... As part of the Alloy Recovery Program, the large coin processors in much of Canada sort out any Ni coin and return it to Mint. Mostly 5 cents, 25 cents, 50 cents, and the old voyageur dollars. All the new coins are just plated steel.

Thanks for any updates. I better save my rolls of 1948 nickles and my other nickles and even the older steel and non steel coins. I need some of the George V nickles for my set.

Who knows, maybe even regular caribou quarters may gain in price because of the influx of non-stop design changes.
