Hi guys...Just wondering why they minted a 1976 dollar coin with denticles and a large canoe and in 1977 they used beads with a smaller canoe...Then in 1980 or so, they went back to a large canoe and denticles again...?...Also, if anyone else has a 1977 and could tell me if the short water lines is normal and the extra piece on the end of the island is also normal...Thanks.
Lotsa varieties on the 1977 dollar -- full water lines, short water lines, faint water lines, attached jewel, not attached jewel, etc. Even "Diving Canoe" rotated dies. A strong year for varieties, most of which are common, though a few are tougher. I think SPP has a whole list of them somewhere, if I recall.
