I'm aware that it's not museum standard lol, but I just wanted an example for my collection. This is a common coin, but I cannot find it mental blockage-as I've seen it before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also should I clean it, or leave it be?

It is Valens with a SECVRITAS REIPVBLICAE reverse. The OF in the left field on the reverse means it is from either the Lyons or Arles mints, I can't make out the exergue; but Lyons would be something like LVGP and Arles would be some form of CONS. There is nothing left to clean on this coin.

An overcleaned AE3 of Valens, alas a common sight in the ancient coin community.

kind of an interesting left field reverse "OF"...that would make it arles or lyons mint, but can't make out mint mark.

Thanks for all the help and replies everyone :). How do I go about telling if it's Lyons or Arles, because I can see better detail in hand-maybe I can find out the mint? I didn't pay much for it, it came with a nice little frame and certificate which looks nice on a desk :).

I've found a page for the mint marks, just to double check it's lettering and no symbols?
