For how much is out there for other coins, I'm having a very tough time finding any kind of photo-grading guide for SBA's, let alone even text descriptions of what to look for specifically when determining a grade. Does any one have any info on this? The only indicators I've found is looking at the eagle's talons, but some other indicators would be great.
E.g. what parts of the coin are most likely to wear driving lower grades?

Thanks

EDIT: The other thing on that smalldollars site is that it mentions the full or bloblike talons doesn't seem to be related to slabbed high grades by grading companies. Not sure what grading companies the author is referring to though.

Here is an educational link on strike quality in SBA's.

http://www.smalldollars.com/dollar/add017.html

It seems the talons on the reverse are where cherrypickers look for strike quality. "Full talons" is kind of like the "full head" of the Standing Liberty quarter series.

Thanks Rollsearcher. I've come across that site myself. That's where I learned about the talons. But what it's lacking is grades associated to each pic; it only estimates percentages of MS coins. I could do guesstimates on that and come up with grades, but I'd prefer to do more edumacated guesstimates.

I would love to see something like this: http://www.pcgs.com/Photograde/#/Lincoln/Grades but for SBA's. It seems SBA's get no love.
Rest in Peace

That is interesting that pcgs.com Photograde doesn't include SBA or Sac dollars.

It seems they don't think highly of modern coinage. The also don't have LMC's.
