A friend and I have been digging a local former WWII Army camp for awhile now as we have been working for a non-profit trying to establish a museum dedicated to the soldier who trained there.

Like any old dump site, we have come across a lot of bottles. We haven't been able to determine what was in them until now. We found an extra nice one!

This Vat 69 bottle is in near perfect condition. It has a few scratches on the outside and no chips or cracks.

Now I just want to find an original full 1940s era bottle to go with it. That is unfortunately proving give difficult.

I guess that the contents of a full 1940's bottle of Vat69 would be worth more than the bottle!

Man, that WOULD have some maturity and mellowness to it.

They are worth more of course, but since it's a blended whisky, it doesn't have as much value as a single. Although I haven't seen one yet, it looks like they might be between $100-200 USD.

We have found more bottles then the museum will ever need so I am keeping a handful aside to reuse for bottling the mead I'm making. Of course all the bottles are going through a very thourough cleaning and sterilization process.

I will have to post more pictures of our I finds. We have quite a bit to include over 800 legible dog tags.
