PCGS Adds 1971-D Type 2 Reverse Ike Dollar Attribution

Darth Morgan Pillar of the Community United States 2815 Posts	Posted 03/31/2014 12:22 am In the process of updating my PCGS Ike dollar registry set, I discovered that they have added a 1971-D Type 2 Reverse to the checklist. This now puts the COMPLETE VARIETY set at 43 coins. But I thought that the 1971-D Type 2 reverse Ike was the regular, non-friendly eagle variety, i.e., the regular version. Is this correct, or am I missing something here? Here it is on my registry coin list: Any thoughts on this? Could it be a mistake? Darth Morgan Pillar of the Community United States 2815 Posts	Posted 04/01/2014 11:19 am Well, never mind. It looks like PCGS corrected this on their site. But the new description has remained. I'm guessing that this "Type 2 Reverse" designation will start showing up on labels from here on out. If that's the case, then I'll have to get one. I might as well upgrade the coin too while I'm at it. EDIT: So the complete variety set is back down to 42 coins, and I'm back at 92.86% completion. They also changed the description of the FEV. Calling it Type 1 (although I prefer saying Variety 1) is accurate, since it was the original design.
