Nice notes gidjit. Do you know if a note with 3 different numbers in the serial number is called an almost solid, or is it only 2.

I am recently into serial numbers on bills. I like seeing other people's finds, so I thought I might post a couple. May as well keep this thread going if others are interested.

@Collectinator (only a few months late), Almost solids are numbers that are so close to being a solid. They are almost always composed of just 2 digits, like 3333383. However, some cases of 3-digit almost solids exist, such as 1111109. This works because the numbers were 2 digits short of a solid if you count sequentially. I once saw a bill that was 6663667, which I would not consider an almost solid, because the two digits are mixed about.

My finds have been from circulation, so some of these are in pretty rough shape for the newer bills.

Not a true binary, but I kinda liked it. At first glance, I thought it was a doubles repeater

Some nice finds! Seems I only find an interesting # only once every couple of years.

Thanks. Do binary notes (that aren't true binary) have any premium to collectors?
DBM, so true! I have looked at the numbers of hundreds/thousands of bills and so many of them are boring or almost radars...

All found either in circulation or came straight from the bank.

Wow, impressive notes you two! Especially the solid 3s and the specimen! Did you get the $10 FTA's in a bundle? I just noticed that the numbers are only 33 off.

Well you all have posted some wonderful bills...I look at many circulated bills and thus far have found nothing more than spending money! But the search continues... love the thread and hope to see some more posts.

This is a note that we've had stashed away for a few years and we're in no rush to sell. It was worth the buying price alone to be able to show it off.
