Looks like some laminations running from top to bottom. Pretty common on the silver war nickles, I think they had problems getting the alloy to mix properly.

Looks like a lamination error to me also.

Nice lamination.. I like how theres is two peals... yeah you can even see the mixture all weird by liberty and date surprised it didn't peal over there also.
