I just discovered this beauty. Picture doesn't do it justice (I never realized how difficult it is to photograph coins + detail is lost because of this site's upload restrictions).
I received this coin in my change from Tim Hortons. The entire legend, the bust, and beads around the circumference are all double struck, with various die cracks/chips on both sides of the coin.
Is this something I should get certified by someone, like ICCS?
Thanks, I took some high res photos which better show the doubling around the legend, but "image optimizer" reduces it down that it loses the detail. It really is much more stunning and defined under a 20x magnifier. Lol.
Yeah, I hate it when you select your photo and your waiting for it to load and then the screen comes up and says, sorry your image is over the max. size, use the image optimizer!
Wow! You got great coin imaging skills! Is there somewhere I can email my high res source files to you? I think they'd be more helpful than what I was able to originally post.
I do not believe these are Machine Doubling. The photo does not do justice to the doubling. If you can get a close-up of the letters you will notice that the classic aspects of die doubling are present in this coin.
