The coin looks to roman, however, it is covered in a green color. There is a head visible on the coin. Also, the coin isn't all that round. I will upload a picture of it to this post. My local coin shop suggested that I take it to someone who specializes in older coins to see what it is.

Looks like a roman bronze of Faustina, bronze coins like this develop a layer of oxidation or "patina" as they oxidize over the millenia. A pic of the reverse, diameter, and weight might help with further identification.

Without question a sestertius of 'Diva' Faustina. Wife of Antoninus Pius deceased AD 148 if memory serves.
AP issued an extensive series of coins for her. Thus they are quite common.

When you return to the coin dealer be sure to say that the CCF has MANY collectors
who are knowledgeable about ancients.
Members, give Liam an idea of a fair price for this 'common' coin.

Based on the thickness I believe it a sestertius of Faustina I. I would like to see a picture of the reverse. In this condition it isn't worth much other than historical value.

I love these coins, huge and chunky. Mine does not show much detail, but it has a lot of character,

Without the reverse pic it is hard to say for sure but assuming it is in similar condition a dealer 'might' ask $10 although I think that is a bit high ! Five dollars is ballpark as the details are rather lacking. Even in VF these types are usually under $100 and on ebay around $50. This one is rather rough and is best thought of as a curio. If you carried it in your pocket with spare change I would not be offended ! Ancient history can be remarkably affordable in this condition.

I agree with everyone. That coin and the green patina is almost exactly like one I own :) I'd put up a pic if I could find it lol.
