Stupid question, but how do I gt pics from my gallery into a post? That is, how do I do it without saving it to my desktop first and loading from there? I tried the recent downloads, but that only seems to be recent pictures I actually posted, not stuff I loaded into my gallery. I'm sure there's an easy way. Plus, I wanted to keep them at the higher file size, otherwise I'd just move them to my desktop, resize, and upload.

Thanks

Get the fullsize pic on the screen. Right-click inside the pic, and choose Properties. A popup window appears titled Element Properties. The Location field of that popup, which will be a web address, is exactly what you copy and paste in between the [IMG] tags. That's how I do it.

Bobby is working to tweak the gallery software to cause that link to show up below the pic, for easier cutting and pasting.

Rick, gotcha. I have been posting pics in the past, just not from my gallery, so I was banging my head trying to figure it out. You are correct in that it was a good thought to add to this for the new folks though. Thank you.

Dave, yup, that did it. I even went to the properties part like you suggested last night already, and I ended up hitting the hyperlink option instead of the image option, so I was getting pretty darn angry. stupid stupid. That's why I decided to close the laptop and walk away. teehee.

Regardless, thanks guys for your help.

SuperDave's instructions are for Micro$oft users. For Firefox folk, you right click on the image and select "Copy Image Location", and paste that in between the [img] [/img] tags.

For other browsers... figure it out yourself.

Whichever browser you're using, the quick check is to see what the last four characters of the string you've pasted are. If they're ".jpg", it should work. If they're something else, go back and try something else.

And always hit preview before posting anything with pics, smilies or formatting in it, just to make sure it works and you like how it "looks".

Oh. Um, I've been using Firefox exclusively for years. The habit was formed back when I was using IE, in other forums; it never even occurred to me to investigate the other right-click options in Firefox....

Time to turn in my geek card.
