The obverse bears the modern civic arms, dating from 1952, of the municipality ("Gemeinde") of Meitingen, in Bavaria. I think the four communities on the reverse may have been absorbed into the new municipality when it came into existence. In 1989, Meitingen was given market status, as Markt Meitingen; this medal may then predate that year.

1978 or later, I think. Look at the four places that are now parts of Meitingen (lower image): Erlingen became part of Meitingen in January 1972; Herbertshofen and Ostendorf were added in July 1972, and Langenreichen in May 1978.

I doubt it has more than melt value unless you fly to Bavaria.

Best Regards,

George
