Hello. I have this coin/medal set from the Canada Centennial celebration (1867-1967). These medals appear gold plated. The case is quite nice and is different from the similar capital plastics cases. Could anyone give me more information on this set regarding mintage, composition of the medals, approximate worth? Thanks.

i believe this is an after market set, I think the original coins were sold individually, in little snap cases. I however have never come across the set you have here. I know there were tons of the stamps issued and they are readily available on ebay. As far as the coins value I would guess between 60-95$ if sold individually , as a set not sure. I am positive there is just a base metal underneath the gold plating, no precious metals.. hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking that this was sort of an enigma. I'll do some further research too.
