A friend of mine found stashed in his basement 5 bags of 1980 Lincolns unopened/uncirculated. But the basement had gotten water in it, and 8 coins fell out. They are 1980D.

Are there errors to found in these? Or should he sell them as they are?

He is trying to get find out what they are worth and where he can get the most money for them.

Your help on this would be great. Thank you

If they have sat in a wet or damp basement for 27 years I doubt they are worth much more than face value legally(melt value is 2.2¢, but illegal to melt)

There is a OMM for the 80-D D/S ,, I'm not sure how much water damage the coins have so trying to place a value on them by the bag would be tough for us .

If the bags are intact ,ebay would probably fetch the best price although full disclosure of the condition should be given .

I'll go along with that. At a coin show they would tell you to just take them home. I doubt a coin store would offer you more than a fraction over face.

OK I will have to check with him. From my understanding this was the first time it has ever been wet down there. But I will have to get with him and find out just what kind of shape the bags are in.

Never dealt with this company, but they sell bu rolls and bulk coins. Might not hurt to call and see what they are paying.
