Have you checked it with a magnet, as DBM suggested? It might be a foreign planchet...

My best guess would have been Bangladesh 25 paisha, which is 2.7g stainless steel. But that should be magnetic I think. Maybe it is an overweight Barbados 10 cents, which should be 2,26g (copper nickel). I have one of those....let me double check the weight. I think mine was very close to the expected weight.

The Canadian 1-cent coins struck on Bangladesh 25 poisha planchets are indeed magnetic. I have two different years struck on that planchet - both are magnetic.
