Borrowing on Moes days of threads in classic coins, and based on the drool factor of some of the coins that popped up in my 53 proof set thread, lets run a days of early proof sets thread.
Here is the deal. Starting Friday, we start the thread with the year 1950. I am not looking at the earlier proof sets (1936-1942) as those are more classic coins than modern. 21 days later we end with 1970. I am cutting it off there because that is the last year of any kind of silver in the regular issue sets.

Sound good?

muddler, who in their right mind would have an issue seeing a 59 proof Frankie, or a deep red 58 Wheatie? The main thrust of the thread is the sets, but individual coins are fine by me.

Let me add this. After 1970 wraps up the thread, anyone who is lucky enough to own any 36-42 sets sneak them on in.
