Quote: You mentioned on another forum having bought this coin in 1984. How did you manage that, if you're 14? I'd like to hear that story myself. This is the CCF and we're an open community so please do fire away and share. That aside, this coin is not nearly an MS67 and quite honestly, looking at the pop reports, PCGS is going to be extremely finicky to even grade it at 65. I am not a Morgan collector but learning coins the way I have, there is too much chatter on the coin in the obverse fields and a few disconcerting scratches on the obverse relief to pass the PCGS grader radar. I am with Westcoin and I will guess it comes in at max MS64. Great luster but not a perfect enough coin to make the scarcer grade population. I'll eat the crow if I am wrong in my statements. Good luck to both of your identities.

Let me get things straitened out. I made an account with the username of Zoran Spencer Allen when I first found this forum. I posted a topic asking you all to grade my coins and said that I purchased it at a coin show but I did not purchase it at a show. I bought it at a coin shop. My error and I apologize. The seller said that they purchased the coin in a basement slabber slab that claimed MS66 but they disagreed so they cracked it out and sold it for MS65. I'm a regular customer to the shop and she really likes me, so she gave me a discount. Don't ask me why but she's really nice. Maybe it is because she supports young coin collectors. Because I did not want to have my full name as my username which would be lame I made "Cruisinfusion" because this is the username I use for most of the games I play. I don't know who the user is who stole my name on the other forum. Someone mentioned in the topic that the OP was -5 if the coin was bought in 1984, so that person must have their birthdate as 1989? In my inbox on Gmail, I got one email from the forum saying "my" account was approved. http://www.cointalk.com/threads/cou...coin.245090/I hope this helps...

Quote: Thanks, bobby. That's all the proof I need. Personally, with over 12,000 posts and always willing to lend the helping hand he does, Dave deserves a public apology. His radar is as credible as any other long standing member of this community. And while I am not looking to instigate or stoke the fires, your conduct was unbecoming of the spirit I have known the CCF to posses. What a shame this thread turned into. And Crusinfrusion, or Frank Zappa, or whatever you want to be called, you had better be on the up and up. I come to this forum daily for what I can say are years now and I do so to look at coins, discuss coins and educate myself from the finest in our hobby. NOT to be plagued by con artists.

What a mess. I don't think I'm a con artist and I really hope I haven't plagued anything.

Ug, it's been 19 business days since PCGS received them on the 25th of March. Because I used the complimentary orders, it should be considered express. They claim 5 business day turnaround for express coins, which mine should be.... Then they claim 15 business days for regular. C'mon! Hopefully I won't have one of these guys did! Can you spot the one who shipped their coin in December of 2013 but just got them now!? https://www.pcgs.com/Membership/sha...rNo=20769706Poor guy/gal.

"The dealer said that it was mailed to him in better condition than he expected. If I'm not mistaken, he ordered it from a grading company that claimed it was Ms-66. The coin, however, was graded by one of the less reputable companies (INB?). The case could be opened easily. I'm assuming he pulled it out and sold it for Ms-65 price." ----cruisinfusion 4/17/14
So was it a He or She that "sold" you this coin?

It's a she.... and a he.... They both run the shop. It's split in two, a gun shop and a coin shop. They both help each other out. I think they're married? My mistake.

In Lawrence of Arabia. He said: ... The well is everything ... "the just murdered guild" was nothing. Firstly to answer the question of the topic:Cruisinfusion: If I personally graded the coin it would be hard. It is likely the pictures as this is no Rare Date but the coin looks too perfect. The fields are completely clean, has the look of a modern Silver eagle. Grading-wise, the coin from the pictures, looks 66, reverse looks 67 but the obverse will drag the grade down. Realistically, though, it is a 65. If you say a coin dealer sold it to you for a 65 then they must know something, afterall, do you believe yourself a 14 year old YN to be more knowledgeable than a long time coin dealer? If she hasn't gone out of business she must know something! To say what I would do if the coin graded 65, 66 or 67? At 65, I would keep and at 66 and 67, I would sell and put that money into a rare coin, or perhaps a combination of bullion and coins. Secondly, to matthewvincent:I believe what you said to dave was in bad taste. He is a moderator, no moderator on a popular website like CCF is stupid. All out mods are experienced numismatists and I would consider Dave to be one of the most experienced (Sorry! ). He also has done us a favor through his staggering contribution to the community at 16,000+ Posts. With xShift and Bobby backing him up, I feel like a public apology on your part is necessary at this point. Thirdly to anyone that it may concern:I myself am not very experienced. I don't know how old you guys think I am but I'm likely much younger than you think. Despite that, I consider myself to be a proper member of this community. I have only been a member in this forum since June of last year and only started posting even since November. So... I think that Cruisifusion has put in some effort to explain himself. Whatever mistakes he may have made, whether intentional or not should not mean that anyone should rag on him. What I think is that, he likely made up the story to shield his status as a YN. I know this because I have done this before myself. As a young collector, a lot of people do not take you seriously, or maybe that was just in my head. So, since he has made no effort to scam anybody, to sell the coin or anything of that sort-- it is unfair to call him a fraudster, con artist or anything else. To the staff: I fell like this topic has lost it's usefulness to any measure and should probably be locked before any more issues arise. Just my thoughts. Regards, Rutvij (zxcccxz)
