The "A" looks like it has a bit of damage but I still think you found a litte die chip. IMO
Rest in Peace

DrZabb...I ran your coin through my software and that is probably not a die chip..As the picture shows, the arrows are pointing to the reflective side of your coin..I aimed it there to see if it was level with the rest of the letter "A" and I think it is...correct..?

Man you have got to get a coin holder when you take pictures...haha

Nice to find but not much of a premium over melt. Good thing is you have a few of them which proves its a real chip.
Perhaps selling them together would be a better idea. Just my opinion

"but not much of a premium over melt"
-----------------------------
well, an extra water line (which is not unique) on dollar increase price near twice..an extra metal on the same year penny rise price near 50 times..but unique undesqribed error on quarter means near nothing?

pennyman007, you did not get my point..i will start again..tell me please, why personally you are ready to pay 10 times premium on 1936 dot variety quarter and at same time are very sceptical towards to more rare ( reasonable assumption-no analogs exists) variety, and as for me, even more attractive to collector eye..and, what is more important, non of your competitors (virtual or real)do not have in possession..

I like it too dont get me wrong. I think its cool and I will keep my eye open for the same chip but on the other hand I have no control over what the markets dictate. I've had disappointing auctions as well as a few that where much better than expected, you just never know how much someone is willing to pay for something.

I agree..here is key words "markets dictate"..but aren't we (I mean collectors) a bit different from a line of burger buyers? As to me, I always use first my own judgment- common sense based on my experience against any current catalogues..

Speaking as a collector I would love to own all 3 of them. Some people are always looking for a good bargain where others dont care about the price if they want it bad enough. Nice find and good luck with them.
