Canon Software Install Issue - Coin Community Forum

rmpsrpms Pillar of the Community United States 4038 Posts	Posted 04/19/2014 01:26 am My desktop PC crashed (dead hard drive) and I had to do a clean install of WinXP Pro SP3 on a new drive. When I tried to install the Canon software, it tells me that my system configuration is not supported. It installed fine previously with same OS vintage. Am I missing some component that is needed? rmpsrpms Pillar of the Community United States 4038 Posts	Posted 04/19/2014 10:35 am So you're saying that the Canon software disk, which is perhaps 3 years old now, "knows" that Microsoft has just stopped XP (perhaps it checked with Microsoft when I started it up?), and that Microsoft and Canon are somehow in collusion such that no one from here on out can install Canon software on Windows XP machines? I was attempting to install it from the network, but it absolutely required to be installed from disk media for some reason.
