Does anyone hedge their bullion investment with futures?

Example:

You own at least 1000 oz of AG. When silver was much higher, one might, (could have) shorted silver thus protecting the bases of the investment.

Same for AU, but the contract size(s) are different.

I have, I can, I have also hedged with a combo of selling short/long GLD/SLV.... options are the table and also using leveraged ETFs in gold and silver markets.

btw, I was hedging for my long term GLD account. But yes, you could most certainly can/should hedge your bullion coins by using various instruments.
