echizento Moderator United States 23731 Posts	Posted 04/27/2014 6:17 pm The only thing that I would do is to remove that little green spot above the emperors nose. It looks like it might be the start of BD. Other than that I would leave the coin alone. Report this Post to the Staff

chrsmat71 Pillar of the Community United States 4981 Posts	Posted 04/27/2014 6:56 pm it may have been waxed, I can possibly see some whiteish wax buildup on it. if so, you could take the wax of with heat or acetone. BD is "bronze disease", a corrosive thing that happens to coin. the little green spot on the obverse may be BD. rub it with you fingernail. if it comes off as a powdery type substannce it is BD.
