In the photos below on the obverse doubling can be seen in UNITED. It does not appear to be Longacre doubling. Can someone confirm this? If a die doubling, is it a known variety? Thanks for any assistance offered!

It's not a doubled die. It's not listed, and if it were a DDO, we should see some notching on the serifs such as the "F", "C" and "E" seen below on this 1887.

What about Machine Doubling? That is what my first impression was.

I think you are right, Machine Doubling is what the coin shows. No premium, but it's interesting.

I don't think I have seen Longacre doubling on the obv of any hub of 1886 Indian Head cent. I think when they revised the master hub they did away with the outlines.
