So I swung by one of my dump banks on my way to work to drop off nickels and halves. As expected, it needed a bag changed. The guy came out to change halves and emptied the quarters and cents while it was open. I never dump cents at this place so I offered to buy the cent bag. When I got home, I did my usual quick bag check to see if anything stood out. I saw what a thought was a dime, but turned out to be a steelie! I've never found one in circulation before. But WAIT! Is that ANOTHER STEEL? AND ANOTHER? AND ANOTHER? I counted 4 or 5 just from the bag check. The odds of that randomly happening are unbelievable. This must be a collectors dump! I cant wait to tear into this! I wish I had enough to go buy the halves!

I'd say a non-collector dumping grandpa's penny jar... but the other bags might have something nice too dimes and nickels are cheap compared to quarter and half bags, If it was me I'd try to get a look at those too

Nice find on the steel cents must be something wrong with the magnets in that machine

So I grabbed all the cash I could and a few boxes of unopened coins, checked the savings account and went and got the halves. Just looking in the bag, I see a '69 and a '64, so its already worth it! Updates to come!

I worked at a Credit Union last summer. I checked the reject bin after a guy dumped a ton of coin and then ran out to my car and grabbed .15 to swap out since our machine rejected 15 steelies. I was so happy! I wish I could have gone through all of them.

Just got done with the halves. 14 silvers total! 4 90% and 10 40%. Also pulled some NIFC and a well traveled 1985 proof. Best silver day yet. Tomorrow, I hit the cents!

Almost done with the cents. Total steelies = 23! They are all rusty and rough, but still, pretty exciting to see that many show up in circulation. I also have a nice big pile of wheaties to go through when I get done with the bag. Seems like the majority of the wheaties are 42-46. I'm thinking maybe a wartime coin collector? Who knows! I'm gonna call that branch up tomorrow and beg them to call me when the other bags fill up! Maybe they still have that quarter bag?
