This dime is ultra thin copper color any help to what's happen to it or any thoughts to what it could be please let me know I'm new to coin collecting and thought it was neat its half the thickness of a original dime

Kinda looks like acid damage to me.

It looks like it was dipped in acid. That would explain the reduced size, missing nickel cladding, and rough surface.

Thanks guys one thing is its smooth on both sides to the touch if it was acid dipped wouldn't it eat the lettering off I'm just wondering I'm new to all this so thank you all very much

My first impression was acid dipped too. Acid eats away the surface at the same rate, so details are largely preserved as the coin lose metal.

That's kinda awesome thanks to whoever did this, this dime is what's got me collecting now I thought I might of had something lol but I'm going to keep looking and collecting thanks toall for the information

Looks like a Metal detector find to me.If the color is correct.(Pinkish tint) Wet bark chips will turn clad coins pink. I'm not sure what the ph level is in wet bark chips but it sure eats away at a coin
