I have been half dollar box searching since july 2012 so I have some experience. I was under the impression brinks were cube boxes, loomis were long narrow boxes, and recently there is garda look just like loomis boxes but yellow color stamp on box is darker that was my thought to be findings at least where I am searching.. but recently I started a new pick up bank they said they have loomis as there cash truck.. well I am thinking get boxes from loomis and dump to brinks, just a system I was thinking to do so I didnt get back my coins. ok so back to new pick up bank first box was a brinks cube ok I thought maybe a mix up ordered two more, next two were brinks so I said thanks I'm good on boxes so I moved on. so another pickup bank which is new for me and I know they were brinks, I started at this bank because I was dropping there and teller said she had a sealed box so I took it a brinks cube and she orders boxes so I am now a regular weekly pick up bank but this week the two boxes they had and they are a brinks bank were these so now I am like wait a minute I'm getting loomis boxes from brinks and brinks boxes from loomis. geez I am a nut case.. so the moral of the story its almost two years hunting halve boxes I am 426 boxes into this and I have no idea how the cash vaults work.. By the way this is a very addictive hobby which can be out of control and probably will need counseling to stop..

How much silver have you found in the 426 boxes? That is a lot of half dollars.

You know I have been getting 2 boxes every week for 6 months. All long narrow boxes the bank uses Brinks.
I recently have another bank that orders 2 boxes a week for me and the first 2 boxes were long and narrow but the last 3 weeks they have been cube boxes. The bank uses Brinks as well.
So I am not sure which boxes brinks or loomis uses.

Why is there interest in the Ike dollars? They seem to be only a large clump of clad material, aren't particularly attractive and don't age well. Something I'm missing?

your banks are using both brinks and loomis try this, get a stamp, like a butterfly or a worm..whatever stamp the bottom of each box you drop off. when you pick up, look on the bottom
