Okay, I know this is highly debated here, but for the sellers like who don't leave feedback until they get some, how many people do you get back that say "you shouldn't be pushy about feedback" etc. I sent my usual message to everyone that hasn't left feedback that says "Just wondering if you have received your item yet. I will leave you good positive feedback as soon as you do the same for me. Thanks!", and normally people leave it or send me back a message saying that they got it.

Today, I got a message that said, "yes I got it, thanks. However, being pushy about feedback is probably not the way to go." This was from a 31 feedbacker. I really get tired of dealing with people like this. I mean, they did it in a nice way, but, why bother? They didn't leave me feedback yet, and I won't be leaving them any until they give some. It is really annoying not getting feedback, I think ebay should have some kind of rebate deal so that people want to leave it.

I almost sent back and said "Maybe you would get more feedback if you left more", but I didn't. I don't feel like getting slammed with a negative from anyone right now.

I'm not a big seller on ebay, but I have never asked for feedback after the sale. Sometimes when I was establishing my reputation I would add a message to the packing slip thanking them for the purchase, and asking them to leave feedback at their earliest convenience. But I left it at that. I think sellers are more likely to leave feedback for purchases, but buyers only maybe less likely because they don't appreciate it as much. To each his own, your way works for you. I am like you though in that I like to get feedback before I leave it. To me it's the buyer's right to choose to leave feedback or not. Anyway, ebay sends automatic reminders. I get one once in a while if I forget to leave a feedback. Just my .02

Im also not a big ebay seller but the few times I do sell I leave feedback as soon as the purchaser pays, if it takes a while to get some back then so be it.

I'm not a seller on ebay, but as a buyer, the day I get my item I always leave feedback so the seller knows I got the item and conclude the sale.

Never had a seller refuse to give me feedback. A few have give it to me early and I always promptly leave feedback as soon as I get the item.

I sell some items per month. I send just 1 message telling them the item is shipped and asking them for the 5 stars feedback. In the listing description is indicated that I will leave feedback after receiving it.

I've never got back a buyer about that. However, most of the buyers don't leave feedback.
As a buyer, I had 2 experiences of sellers that didn't leave me feedback after I already left. In one of the cases, after I sent a private message, he apologized and left the feedback back, in the second case the seller never left feedback.

Well, if a buyer leaves me feedback, as long as it is good positive feedback, I will leave it for them right after.

I haven't left Feedback as a seller until the buyer has received the item and either indicated satisfaction or at least failed to complain - their Feedback is optional - in 15 years. Not_once. It's silly to leave Feedback for someone who still has the time to turn on you.

No Feedback, from either party, until the sale is complete. No exceptions.

I don't always get to leave feedback for the seller immediately. I have a life and it's not ebay. The people who send a reminder before the package even arrives annoy me.

As a seller I always leave feedback as soon as the person pays. If they've paid quickly I make sure to mention that in the feedback. As far as I'm concerned as a seller getting paid quickly is very important. I have over 1000 positive feedbacks and 100%, selling since 1997 so I feel pretty good this practice has benefited me.

Perhaps a buyer might become a problem after I've left feedback, but not so far in 17 years for me at least. I'm of the opinion that you're more likely to receive positive feedback from the buyer if they've already received such from you the seller complimenting them on their quick payment.

As far as asking for positive feed back later after the buyer has received the item, I don't have a problem with that but if they're not into leaving me feedback I wouldn't worry about it.

One benefit of leaving positive feedback as soon as the buyer pays is you don't really have to keep track anymore. I've got enough on my plate than to have to worry about who has and hasn't left me feedback.

Just my 2 cents.

As a seller and buyer I state in my about me page on ebay that feed back should start with the buyer. I never leave any feed back for a buyer until they leave it for me. Almost no one sends an email saying thanks when they get their item so their feed back is all I have to know that they are happy and the deal is done. No deal is done until the buyer says so and their courtesy to me is as important as mine is to them. I am surprised at how often when as a buyer I leave positive feed back and do not get any back.

As a buyer I would trust this type of seller more. Even if something did go wrong(lost package or damage goods) I would believe that the seller will make it right.

I always put my feedback policy in my listing, but for some reason, I don't think people read it.

Yeah, I always make sure that the tracking number says that it has been delivered for at least a couple days.

I leave feedback as soon as I can after the buyer has paid.
As far as I am concerned as soon as the buyer pays they have fulfilled their obligations and deserve feed back at that stage.
Whether they leave feedback or not is irrelevant, If they feel like it then so be it, Why force someone to do it , that is insane.

Because the more feedback I have, the more sales I will get in theory. However, it is true, at least on truck parts.
