Hey all,

Purchased a total of 4 nice coins tonight. (2) from Teletrade and (2) from ebay.

The (2) I purchased from Teletrade I bought because I think they could be resubmitted to get the FT from NGC or FB from PCGS. Would like opinions from those familiar with the bands on dimes as to whether I am just spitting into the wind or whether I stand a chance on these.

Thanks and have a great one all!

I would not recommend you spend the money on having them graded. Of course if there is a way of not paying for the grading, then why not. I see way to many coins in slabs at coin shows where the slab price is an attempt to make the coin more valuable. If the coin is not a valuable coin I just can't see spending the money on grading.

Both coins are graded already by NGC as MS67. If they were regraded to MS67 FT or FB, there values would go well over the $1,000. mark.

A 1958 MS67 FT on teletrade auction last night went for $1,250. When you get into the FT and FB designations in this series in MS67 grades the cost on them goes through the roof. There are quite a few of these in the series that are more rare than hen's teeth.

Have a great one all!

I love Roosies but I would NEVER spend that much money because a torch band was full, even if I had a billion dollars. I wish grading companies didn't Ruin the hobby with all of this hype. It really brings me down to see the hobby dragged through the sludge by these jerks who just want to steal our money because they think their opinion is better than everybody elses. One day it is a 67 the next is a 66.

But I do like your Roosies.

PS I don't believe the 49 S is strong enough to constitute a full band strike but the 62 D probably would.

WOW! Exactly what I would have said but not quite that harshly. I would have tried to say morons, not jerks. You must remember that they are making money on people that fall for that hype though. I keep pointing out that way, way back when I started there was G,F,Unc and Proof. That was all there was and we were fine with that.
