little more camera fun!! this is starting to be like finding new coins!! another one of my pride and joy coins that needed a new image!!
im starting to get this Licoln Cents are about the hardest coin to image IMHO please let me know what ya think of the image the second image is the USB microscope the first image is me and photoshop..

Nice photos! I think your DSLR will only get better with time and a tripod.

It's sort of neat to see the difference. The DSLR has less detail and more of a realistic, 3D look. While the microscope has better details, but a flat, dull, lifeless 2D look.

How about a full coin shot of each? Just for fun!

Yep Macro on still working on the lighting setup.. And that seems to be the real challenge.. I read a awesome thread in the doin photography section and more or less thats what I am using.. My goal was to photograph errors. The USB microscope has its uses but there is no substitute for the images that a real camera can get.. Another user on here (wish I could remember the thread) spoke about free hand camera shooting and thats what I was trying to do here. But anyways other than the low light issue its a pretty decent image. Going to go on a little coin search today and see if I can find something new!!
