It's actually made of nickel, not silver. Pretty cool find though.

I'm glad I was not the one to break the bad news... there has not been any silver in French coins since before the end of the first world war.

Still a nice find, I got a 5 Baht coin from Thailand in a quarter roll once, it was the only roll I picked up that day and was a nice surprise, I just pulled a 10 Centavos from Guatemala the other day from a roll of nickels.

Anyone that roll hunts ends up with tons of foreign coins especially US-Canada cross-overs. I know of a few Canadian's that are working on State Quarter sets.

Nice of you to offer but if you have not gotten that much from a small amount of CRH then you are not addicted enough also selling and trading is not allowed until you have been here 3 months and have 150 quality posts

RULES, RULES, RULES but it does make sense, give us a chance to get to know you and vice-versa

Being in Montana I have a better chance of getting Canadians so I decided to see if I could make a whole set of cent to quarter for Elizabeth II. I'm doing fairly well on 5,10,25 cents from late 60's to late 90's a few from after 2000. I did find a 1968 Canadian dime that was 50% silver, but I'm not even too worried about completing the silvers, it is all just a side step from collecting US coins from rolls.

I'm doing great on cents, 1953-2000 I'm only missing 2 from the 50's and I'm sort of spotty after 2000 but working on it all the time

On a set like this it REALLY is ONLY about the HUNT. If I spent 5 bucks on a 1953 Liz II cent then got one the next day in a roll I don't know what I would do

thanks..the silver..oh well. live and learn.
sounds like you have a pretty nice collection
I thought about collecting canadians, but to hard to get here.
I am working on pennies right now,
in 2 whitman folders, 1 folder starts 1959
and is all uncirc. p-d-s
so far I have all but half the s's from 84 on.
missing 1970 s and 72 dd s
2nd album is 1910 -2014
p-d circulated
50 through ,20014 pretty much have
3o through 40 about half
teens through 30 mostly p's
i just finished the nickel folder 59-present
need 2009 p+d and 1966
next I will collect as far back as I can go
indian heads.and buffalos .YEAH,, here I come!!

same with dimes; 65-present I have. now I am working back.

quarters..have the states, working on presidents and america beautiful
1966-98 have most of them accept the darn s's again
plus..I've managed to get the last 4 years of silver dollars
its a small collection, nothing like the stuff you guys have
its kinda fun to buy 20 rolls and see whats in them..i think I am competing with another collector I got a few rolls of pennies that you could tell were already rummaged thru
all the faces facing the same direction, to me. is a dead giveaway. no key dates and no 82 on back. I named him Bubba
that gives me a name to cuss.

I am finishing my dads collection,
edited..getting to know you and you me...makes since
i am a member on another site..not coins..milsurp firearms
we are like a family, been there couple of years..
then..there are sub- hobbies..collecting arrow heads and rocks..and cast iron skillets and dutch ovens
kinda a strange collection...they just seem to follow me home!

try cooking on cast...the only way to cook!

Keep at it Frodo - you're heading in the right direction it seems. As for cast iron pieces - my brother does the same and from what he tells me, there are a number of you folks out there.

Absolutely - even heat, lower temperatures, and easy cleanups. Unless I'm boiling spag., I'm using cast iron when I cook!

Cast iron IS the only way to cook. They make good home defense weapons as well. Keep hunting those rolls frodo. You'll eventually find some silver.
