Maybe the scratches don't show up in your pictures? From the pictures, I see a VF-30 (easy) CBH.

Maybe re-submit?

I say break 'er out and leave 'er out! (I prefer my coins raw.) I understand your reasoning for having the coin slabbed, I would not let the details grade get you down. Just enjoy it with your family slab label be, well you know.

My guess is that there are scratches that the photo hide. The obverse photo especially seems to be just blurry enough for this purpose.

The only noticeable scratches on the obverse are to the left of and a little below the chin. The mark at the top right is not on the coin or holder, but is a scratch on my scanner bed.
