Septimius Severus Denarius, Bonus Eventus reverse, RIC IV 347, very rare Alexandrian mint issue struck during the civil war between Septimius Severus and Pescennius Niger. During the civil war, the prefect of Egypt first sided with Pescennius Niger, but after the latter's defeat at Nikaia, the governor acknowledged Septimius Severus as new emperor and issued a small group of denarii in his name to support his fighting in Syria and Cilicia.

Cool coin, and fun bit of history info. Is that a NGC holder, or just one you put it in?

Are you going to keep it in the slab, or set it free?

I keep them in the case. Saves the trouble of re-grading them later if they ever have to be moved/sold.
