Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this, I'm a newb and I don't know where to post this kind of question. Please point me to the right place, just looking for some advice from experienced collectors!

Today my order for the 60th Anniversary of The Queen's Coronation stamp & coin set came. The second I opened it I saw it has a little tear on the front right next to the coin. I don't like it, but I don't know how it effects the value. The Royal Mint says they will refund shipping if I send it back to them for a replacement if defective.

I'm wondering if:

  • This warrants a return/replacement for defective product?

  • Has anyone ever returned anything to The Royal Mint and/or knows how they well they deal with returns, refunds, etc.?

Picture & close up of tear below. Thanks for any help!

I wouldn't call myself an expert but personally I'd return that, as its not in the condition that it should be in.

If you kept it, I think that every time you looked at it all you would notice would be the rip.

Thanks proofreader, I'm thinking the same thing. I'm going to call them and make sure that qualifies as damage just to make sure. Will post here when I know.

FYI, I returned it and they sent me a new one in perfect condition and a check refunding me for the cost of my shipping it back to them. Excellent deal and great customer service!
