The coin above...depicting Charles and Lady Diana...is that an official Coin of the Realm?
I GREATLY admire Lady Diana, and have wondered if there were any Royal Mint-issued coins bearing her image.

although there is no denomination on it, this is a real coin, valued at 25 New Pence. It is KM#925. I managed to swap one today for the Queen Mother coin. Steve

Triggers I have a pile of them tho' they have minor scratches Not sure what you mean by "official coin of the realm"..but they were made by The Royal Mint and as triggers says they have a face value of 5 shillings which in decimal is 5 x 0.05 decimal pounds or 25 pence. Never seen one in my change tho' for some reason ;)

Thanks, Matty!
By "coin of the realm" I meant Royal Mint-made and spendable! LOL!

A lot of British Commonwealth countries issued Royal Wedding coins in 1981, many with the duel portrait. Australia issued a 50 cent coin, our only 50 cents struck outside of Australia (at The Royal Mint in Wales). After her death in 1997, the UK issued a 5 pound coin paying tribute to her. Some other countries did also. There are also some coins this year marking the 10th anniversary of her death - Alderney in the Channel Islands is one and coins were struck by Royal Mint I think. Oh, she also appears on one of the coins in the 1992 Australian Royal Ladies silver proof and gold proof sets. Very nice coins and one of the only times I have come across Princess Margaret on a coin.

I have one of the Charles and Diana coins issued in a special commemorative folder. The coin is cupro-nickel. I also have the silver proof version of the same coin in the box issued by The Royal Mint. The certificate states that a maximum of 250,000 will be issued world wide. The coin was designed by Philip Nathan (a former Royal Mint engraver) and his intials P.N. appear just below the portrait of Prince Charles. Sorry I can't post photos but my camera has just broken dowm\n.
