Can't say I've ever heard of the variety or that it even exists. That does looks odd though, not like a regular A. I'll let the experts weigh in on it.
Known as weak/missing crossbars variety. Not really rare, but not common either, worth $40-$50 in that condition. Weak or missing crossbars can appear in 1,2, or all three A's.
Give us a closeup of the V please. Looks like something interesting could be happening there.

It appears to be a "die break A". The only other one I've seen with both these features on one coin is in my collection. I like it when a coin I own is elevated from "one off oddball" to variety.
