Thanks persistnt! I feel like I wanna collect everything but I really need to start with something and narrow down my choices. 5 and 20 sound good. Definitely not 100s, will be too expensive collection lol

Here is another post about basic collecting acording to me (So no being mad, disagree if yu like).Gem UNC is highest grade or best..If a note has even the hint of damage, like a counting flick, it could be ChoiceUNC (CU).If the bill has a fold on it then the highest it can grade is extra fine (EF)..A huge majority of old notes would be classified as Fine. They are soiled or dirty, have folds, rounded cornors (My tip of the day-Look at the cornors of every note before you buy it, Yes all 4, Do they have a bend very close to then, Or worse is that where a piece is missing?)..I have not even seen a HCA, but it is the most resent Prefix of 5.oo's, the others are HBG,H,J,KLMN,P,T,U.. For the POlymer 10's is less:FEW,Y,Z,FTA,B,C,D,E..I try to grab more than one note of the NEW Prefix's when my bank has them, (Which is not a lot of the time-I hav to keep comming to the banks).Because then I can trade for one in just as good condition with my coin club buddies...So that is another reason why it is smart for a Paper Collecter to be a club member Locally..Just so I can end my long winded speech on contiversy-I will say "Is it aceptable to quit Smoking, so that YOU have more money to collect new Frontier Series bills?

Hey Zeil,

Great find. Can I request you to share on piece of information about your bank note. There is two digit number along the right edge of the back of the note almost at the bottom. Can you share that number with us. Is it 54 by any chance?

Thx

The small number you're speaking of is called the plate number.. on the poly's they're the same for both the front and back (FPN & BPN)

What's the significance if the FPN is #54?

For sth that's a radar (1/1000) and that's UNC, definately keep. If you feel bad about the $50 sell it and you will immediately profit. This is my logic.

Some people like some serial numbers better than others, so since it's radar, there's always some market for it.

Some of the position numbers in the AH- and AM- series have truncated A or M or H in the left prefix.

Although the image is not clear it seemed that Left stem of A on the 2nd A in the Left prefix is a bit shorter. I have noticed that it happens for position number 54.

Here is a picture showing that

Thx for verifying.

On the AM- and AH- $50 notes there are certain position numbers in certain serial number ranges where I have noted that the letters are with shortened stems. This particularly happens in the Left Side Numbers and generally affects the A but also the M and H.

In the AMA range it seems that position number 54 is more likely to be affected.

Here is a photo of an example. It is true that ink can be removed from the prefix number but if you see the close up image you can see the typical outside and the inside edges that are typical in any prefix. Where a prefix is tampered with you will not see the two edges.
