Hi all I am completely new to collecting Australian Pennies and 1/2 Pennies I have had a bunch of circulated ones and always wanted to collect a mint state set. So today after looking for months I just my hands on a collection of 48 different Uncirculated Australian Pennies and 38 Uncirculated Australian 1/2 Pennies.

Most have no sign of wear. I will need to take them out and photo them one by one. Varied mints and a few toned proofs.

I will be posting pictures and help and feedback will be appreciated.

Nice score and it would be good to see the obverse side of some of the
coins as there are clearer indicators as to the condition on the obverse

The numbers you've labelled as "Ref" or "code number" are in fact mintages, in millions. Old Krause catalogues used to report mintages in this fashion.

I hate to be the skeptic, but you almost certainly don't have a proof 1951PL halfpenny. Predecimal proofs are rather rare, and worth tens of thousands. PL-mintmarked coins were struck in London, and London strikes are generally of much higher quality than either of the Australian mints; they can tend to look proof-like by comparison, but they are not proofs.

You'll definitely need to let the experts here take a good look at any coins labelled "proof" or you think might be proof.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Thanks Sap.. I am complete newbie to them .. this was in a closet since 1972 the owner was a collector from early 1920's and had pasted in mid 70's I plan on taking out of flips and doing photos of them I do not believe anything writing on a flip. I hope to find out about the varieties etc through reading here and posting and research. I see a rainbow toned one too not sure if that hurts or helps..

Here is the one labled 1951-PL

Nice start to a collection, have fun researching and discovering. Pull them all out and put them in new 2x2's or flips, they then become "yours".
Don't forget to look for any errors and/or varieties.!
