I don't know if this is a coin or a token. Any ideas what this could be? It is 24mm and 4.3 grams, alum-bronze.

Whoah. You got me. The writing on the wreath side looks Ge'ez (Ethiopian), while the other side has a mix of Arabic, Western and "something else" - Sinhalese?

The Western script says "Mascot" (which could either be a blundering or alternate spelling of "Muscat") and a monogram which appears to be something like "AEF".

Best guess: a trade token made for or used in the East Africa / Indian Ocean region. No idea who made it, or when.

Mascot is a branch in clothing which is worn by people in offshore industry, and it is a firm which produces tokens, but I do not know the intention making it 24, so I guess it has to be something you can give at your work for a meal or something like that.

I am going to be a lot less adventurous and guess that because of the apparent Hebrew letters that this is likely a Eastern Star or Masonic temple token of some sort.

There was a Masonic Hall in Mascot, New South Wales Australia. The numbers on the back could be the the ranking of the person with the Initials on the front. Instead of reading 770 it maybe 77 degree Mason.
