I have a really nice 1930-D NGC MS-66 RED Lincoln. I sent it to CAC, and get comes back with a green bean.

Wow. This coin goes to the stratosphere in a 67 Red.

Although I have no plans to sell anytime soon, but who knows what the future may bring. Should I send to PCGS for a cross-over (and lose the bean) or PCGS for a crossover at 67 or better, or NGC for a review to try to get the 67.

Or just leave it alone as an NGC 66 Red with a Bean for now.

Thank You.

Sending to PCGS for a crossover at 67 or better wouldn't cause you to lose the bean, right? Since they would only crack it out an slab it if it grades 67 or higher? If that is correct, seems like the only downside would be the cost. Do you think it has a real shot at 67?

PCGS has only graded 9 at MS67RD and none finer. With well over 1,200 1930-Ds in the PCGS Pop Report, the odds are not good. This is one of those coins that is relatively common (and relatively inexpensive) in MS66RD but almost unheard of in MS67RD. Even NGC shows only 8 pieces certified at 67RD. I would leave it in the NGC holder and save my money.

with BH1964, you should leave it in the holder. Personally I'd prefer a high quality 66 with CAC than a low end 67. You should post some pictures though!

Chances of it crossing into a 67 holder are very, very small. It would have to have blazing luster. Of course, it would help to have some pictures posted.

Not a big fan of slabs so if it was mine, out of the slab and into an Album.
