I want to give my girlfriend a nice coin, probably a colored proof, in a capsule. I'd like to put the capsule in a bezel type holder with a bale for a necklace. I've looked everywhere I can think of online and all I see are bezels that hold coins without capsules.

I would think there would be a market for putting quality coins in capsules into jewelry holders.

I'm looking to see if anyone on this list knows of a product that would meet my needs.

TIA

I could easily have that made. What type of capsule are you thinking?

Actually, I'm still looking at coins, probably a couple different ones. I was thinking along the lines of looking for coins that might fit existing products, but having something made to fit a coin would give me a lot more flexibility. I have an occasion or two coming up where I just had an idea while perusing coins tonight that I thought "with all the sentimental expression coins being made, why not use one for a special gift?" I have bid on some and will have a really good idea on size, probably within a week.

Thanks!

That just needs a custom fit. There are "regular" sizes for all sorts of coins, but capsules: none are mass-produced that I know of. I've been trying to think of a way to protect a coin in a bezel that doesn't use any capsules, and the only way is to get an XF coin with raised elements on the bezel to protect the coin, but then you're still going to get dirt lodged into tiny crevices.

Question: what will you do if the coin flips upside-down inside the capsule?

Most capsules seem to fit tight enough that turning seems unlikely, but I would gladly take that chance. The wearer wouldn't be jogging or doing gymnastics while wearing it, so I would hope that the coin would stay pretty much in place. I could be wrong of course.

Could try to get some round glass inserts for the bezel?

Sorry it's taken me a while to respond to all the people who might help. I finally found a couple of zodiac sign coins that I'd like to put their capsules into a bezel with bales. Here's one of them. I'm not sure how to find the actual bezel's diameter and thickness, but hopefully this will give enough information for an educated guess:
