I am hoping someone can help me with information on grading Australian decimal coins.
I have found that there is a lot of links on the net with information on how to grade pre-decimal with pictures to give you a guide but I cant find one for decimal coins.
I would like to be able to get a rough idea of grade before I start asking for other peoples oppinions on higher grade coins.
Thanks

Hi Banana............ , I must say your ID is well "different" lol
All the same principals apply,no wear UNC,very little wear aUNC ( just touched off high points ),slightly more obvious wear EF & so on.
As far as I know no one has a decimal grading guide.

buy the official guide to coin grading and Counterfeit Detection from scott a travers and read it cover to cover twice and you are on your way to fully understanding grading

Thanks for the reply,
PNC King, I was looking for something by an Australian.
I would assume that book would focus on the Sheldon scale.

appleangel07, I was hoping there would be something like the guide by ANDA. Is there a rough gauge by the crown on 1 and 2 cent pieces.

I suggest that you but a cheap Mint Set, The minimum grade in these is normally MS64-65 and better as a guide.
