I could probably do with John from Triskeles on this one. This was part of the last lot I bought. It is 21mm 9.42g.

It has two nice countermarks. One is a trident and the other is either a helmeted head, or if you turn it upside down it could be a bears head.

It is a bow case with strap. The other side is an eight pointed star or sun. It is off centre so there may have been a bow on the star side, but I can see no sign of it.

It is currently in soak, I think more details will be forthcoming over the next few weeks.

I have found just a few examples of similar coins, but I can't find a reference to match. Any suggestions? Here are some that I found:

This one says it is extremely rare:

This doesn't say much, but it has helmet and trident countermarks

This says rarity is "6" I have no idea what that means AND they have the picture upside down.

I think Cyprus used a trident countermark.

Your finding some interesting coin lately. As usual I've been coin poor. so it's nice to see these. Not good with counter marks so I can't help much.

Thank you chuy, I will bear that in mind.
Echizento, I have just been lucky, I will get around to posting the others that this came with.
Ben, I am trying the DW first. I have yet to go the olive oil route, it just sounds so gunky :)

Distilled Water is very tedious - Olive oil works much quicker, especially in cases such as this. I switched over because everything was getting oily.
