Hi everyone! I inherited this coin from my grandfather, but honestly I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's an English half penny. Maybe it's some type of colonial coin. I just don't know. Can someone else help?

This is a coin from the Philippines, when the islands were ruled by the United States. So you were right about the colonial part! Here's pictures and mintage years:

The bad news: this coin is in very bad shape and I can't really make out the date (anywhere from 1903 to 1936, maybe you can see it better in real life). Its collectible value would be almost nothing because of its worn and pitted condition. BUT - its value to you - maybe your grandfather served in the Philippines and took this home with him - ask around!

Under a strong light and at just the right angle, I can make out the date 1903.
