Great shots Zach. I am just about at the point where I am going to spend some time on photography as well. I can take macro shots without too much issue with my camera, but I have yet to really mess with lighting etc.
Having said that, you pics are great. I did notice that the first set of "true" color pics seem dull? Not the correct word, but hard to explain. Almost like flat paint compared to semi-gloss. Don't get me wrong, I'm not critiquing in a bad way, just trying to figure out what I am seeing. Regardless, great work!

I think somebody figured it out. OK, zacharycash. In the interest of helping the community at large, can you share your setup, settings and lighting? The only possible nitpick I can give is that the white balance was a little off in the first set. Otherwise, you're in da house.

Ok ive got a tri pod set up it holds the camera lens about 2- 3 inches away from the coin. the camera is at a slight angle (maybe 20 degrees) to let the light in. I'm using only one light. it is a 120 v 25 w true color ottlite ( http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog....ource=search ) I have the light shining directly down for most of those shots. Aperture f8 all on all the shots exposure varied between 1/40, and 1/250 for each coin Custom white balance Super Macro ISO 80 on all of them heres a picture. nothing complicated. http://www.coincommunity.org/galler...hp?pos=-7918
