I bought this coin today from a reputable store at the four seasons in \amman,Jordan. I want to make sure it is real and that the price I paid is fair.

Last year I bought an ancient, silver plated, forgery of this type, of King Gotarzes II.

Yours does not seem to have any Copper alloy leaching out of the surfaces as my (former, I sent it back to the seller for a refund) example had.

Of course you did buy a piece of jewelry and not a coin per se. The gold bezel appears to come from a workshop so you have paid a goldsmith for his time and labor. It thus becomes somewhat harder to evaluate the coin. To properly appraise the coin you need remove the bezel ! As this would partially destroy the workmanship it would not be reasonable to do it!
The coin does appear to be genuine and I believe $100 would be a reasonable price.
But you purchased jewelry and so ....... The gold and the labor come in. With jewelry the sky is the limit.

I bought my wife jewelry once upon a time ...... from a "Pawn Shop"...... Back when 18K sold for $12 a gram !

Appears to be a Vardanes I tetradrachm, Sellwood type 64. Please show the reverse when possible...it'll help in the assessment.

Edit:
I'm updating my post to add the following. Although I think the coin is quite possibly authentic, I am bothered a bit by the beaded border. It's almost too perfect and doesn't seem to match the wear on the portrait. The beads on these types (Vardanes I) are almost always a bit less refined looking. For comparative purposes, I'm including a pic of mine, below, and links to some others:

If authentic, the coin was minted in 42 AD; the year, represented by Greek letters, is visible over the palm branch being held by Tyche on the reverse...it says 354 of the Seleukid Era, which equates as 42 AD.

The fields have been artificially toned/darkened, but in itself that is not enough to condemn a coin as fake.

A Vardanes I of this grade would likely sell for about $200 or a bit less. I cannot speak to the value of the gold setting.
