I posted his on another mailing list today but also wanted to post it here. :)
/////////////////////////////
Recently I noticed something which really caught my attention and after yesterdays test it proved to be the case yet again. Every time I complete a transaction using ebay and then immediately pay with Paypal I get two phishing scam e-mails from an individual claiming to be affiliated with either ebay or Paypal wanting me to do the usual like; click here, log on from here, etc. I wonder if the phishing scam is an inside job by someone at either of these organizations.

Now as usual I forward the suspicious e-mails to the appropriate spoof address and get the response saying they are infact not from either ebay or Paypal.

Has anyone else noticed the appearance of phishing e-mails after completing either ebay or Paypal transactions?

I will add I also use an Ebay/Paypal unique e-mail address.

I haven't had that problem. Only once I receive a Phishing Email, but I didn't make a transaction before or after I received it.

No, I have not. I wonder what the common denominator is?

I completed a transaction in fact with dave with a newer ebay account feedback of 1,, within minutes I received a message sent through the ebay system from a seller in china trying to sell me many coins at wholesale make me all the best prices !

By the way ,,I reported this email and this seller is now NARU ,,it only took ebay around two hours to lose this guy.

I get several phishing emails a week ,,I always report them , and always get the same stupid reply from ebay .

I get a few phishing emails a month claiming to be from pay pal my account is always limited and or is going to be suspended for some inappropriate behavior on my part ,, with the same results the same lame reply from pay pal .
