About 10,000 collectors, experts, coin dealers and members of the public will gather through Sunday at the Moscone Center for the American Numismatic Association's annual meeting.

U.S. Treasurer Anna Escobedo Cabral will open the event; the Treasury Department's $1 billion display, including the country's first gold coin and silver dollar, and $100,000 bills, will be open to view.

There are also educational classes and free appraisals.
