1968-S Lincoln Memorial cent w/ Weird Rev Errors?

Any comments, suggestions and feedback welcome...

Something is weird with the rev on this one....

This is what I see?

  • only Lincoln legs shows - it is even less visible to eyes the camera shows alot it more then in hand.

  • the columns are wavy

  • weird crack or chip to top corner of memorial

Over abraded dies and the chip/crack looks like a ding.

The weak columns and Lincoln are due to excessive die polishing which removed some of the details. The upper right cornice of the memorial took a hit from another coin.

Looks like it could be a DDO also. Take a closer look at the date.

Wow you got good eyes, yes its a DDO at first I though 1968S-1DO-008P but it was exact overlay match on 1968S-1DO-004P and match up on a few of the markers.

ghostrivertrading,
You must have eagle eyes,I don't see any DDO and could not make a match for 004.

I could be wrong it won't be the first or last time....

But I think it might a match or it could be my eyes wanting it to be one... lol I had ruled it out before the post...

the date mint mark lined up on overlay. same thickness and some minor notching I had originally thought it was 1DO-008P but it did not line up I didnt realize the 1DO-004P is the same but the MM on 008 is higher and to the right a tad.

There is a nice notch in the E of WE but I didn't look it up for a match. I have found several DDO's but they are not attributed. Hang on to it as Coop would say.
