I was curious to get other peoples comments on how they return their "Overburden" or "Dump Coins"

I have just stepped up the $$$ amount I am hunting/week from about $600 (Quarters/Dimes/Nickels) to $1200.

Previously, I was dumping Friday, Saturday, and again on Monday (different banks each time) Each time I had all my rolls in a reusable shopping bag, and it was probably 30+ lbs

(Note I don't have access to coin counters at my banks, so everything is rolled and neatly bundled in tens)

Now at twice the $$$ amount, I have added a 4th Dump on Tuesday, because there is now way I could physically carry 2 of these bags.

So the question is more for those who hunt in volumes, DO you bring a Dolly (I did this once when I returned 10 boxes of pennies) or just carry in a bag.

Also do you feel people staring at you when you walk up to the teller?

I dump two boxes of cents per week on average at the same bank with no problem (so far).I am sure you know not to dump where you buy the coins.

my bags at this time are 35lbs. Used to do 20 lbs. I put them in my backpack and walk them into the city. tougher in the hot summer of course, so I've done a little less recently.

Get yourself some nice cloth bags. I bought some online, others get them for free at banks. Coin bags. Not necessary though, you could just use the bags you are using.

At my busiest I would hit 4 banks a week with 1 35lb dump at each bank. There is a coin counter at each branch that has never ever failed or filled up.

I wouldnt visit twice in a week usually. Though, sometimes I would wait only 6 days instead of 7. And twice, I had to dump at the same bank twice in one week because I was already downtown and my destination bank was shut down when I got there. Once for random water issue, once for attempted bank robbery!

John thanks for the comments, I was hoping to get more thoughts about how people bring large amounts back.

I need to get more organized about my dumps. I've dumped at the same bank I've picked up before ( weeks later ofcourse), but I only have 1 bank at the moment, I need to get a different one and really route out my pick ups and dumps.

I fly under the radar and dump hundreds at a time. Cloth sAck with rolls in it. I get my cash immediately over the counter. Or, I dump $500 at a time (dimes)through the counter. I'm reimbursed for dimes counted as cents.

I know exactly what you mean. I've dumped $125 in cents before, and they all have to be hand rolled. I just put all my rolls in a cardboard box and give it to the tellers. Trust me I have people looking at me all the time, but who cares.

Using a dolly unless you are best friends with the branch manager in my opinion is blatant disrespect to everyone working there.

The only times I have brought a dolly into a bank was when THEY forgot to order my 4 boxes of halves on Monday and doubled the order up on Thursday for me and understood that they made a mistake and I didn't want to make 5 trips out to my truck.

I know they are doing me a favor by ordering me boxes at no charge and I understand mistakes happen and don't make a scene if they forget to order.

Dumping I have tote bags which usually have 40lbs of halves each and have to make 2 or 3 trips out to haul it all in. Again bringing a dolly or cart without them seeing me struggling hauling it all in may not go over well.
