My main point is that MC membership gives one the advantage of getting first pick at those coins which look to be a good investment, which in turn are usually sold out before they go to the general public.

I don't want to sound like a broken record but how many coins sold out at the Mint this year before reaching the general public and were NOT available elsewhere for issue price?

ZERO

As for investment, which coin has appreciated in value this year?

NONE.

If I were not an MC member I would not have been able to obtain the gold Superman coin, nor the complete set of venetian coins, nor the set of pennies, nor all of the silver snowflake coins, and so forth, other than paying premiums for the coins in the aftermarket

The gold Superman was available to the general publc. MC members had a shot at it for a week but it did not sell out. The Penny Set was available for ordering from the Post Office. I don't know about the first Venetian coin, but the 2nd and 3rd sold out before reaching the public. The last one (frog) made it to the public. Don't know about the snowflake coins.
But you are talking about a handful of coins; out of hundreds of releases per year that gain value.

Hi MoneyPenny. As mentioned I do not buy hundreds of coins, only those which meet my criteria. As for this year, I have bought very few, other than those I like, for instance, the Empress of Ireland, the Bison, venetian frog.

Again, I feel very good about my investment to date, plus I like coins as I am sure we all do.

Cheers
